What is the definition of Poker After Dark: some of the globe's best poker warrriors meeting some of the game's most notable personalities, in a winner-gets-all format, and it was NBC's novel poker show.
It all began in 2007 (Jan), 6 of the world's strongest congregated for some weeks to gamble. Poker After Dark's buyin: not too much, not too expensive, just twenty grand. I mean, it's not much if you can afford it. Prize was 120 thousand to the victor, and for the losers, they were given gifts to soothe the "pain of losing".
In Poker After Dark, every week's tourney would follow what happened from time the gamblers shuffled and dealt, up to the last pot. Shown nationwide, Poker After Dark became a well-liked tradtion, for another reason. They offered this too: if one plays at
FullTilt's S and G tourneys, one gets the opportunity to win a great Poker After Dark prize, worth 25 thousand dollars. This included a twenty thousand competition entrance fees, the five would be one's spending cash.
Well, that is that, as for me, I have my own Poker After Dark. That is, a home poker game hosted by one of my friends, always past 11pm- it should be Poker WHEN very Dark.

For all intents, it was a free-wheeling thing, the community being accorded a great deal of latitude to do something with the various elements. Upon the start of the enterprise, there were just about 35 colors, fifteen or so in terms of edge attributes, and less than a dozen inlay shapes, and put them all together- there were millions of choices.
When the end of the initiative came, what resulted was the kind of clay poker chips which brought the standards higher by a notch or two. Thanks to these clay poker chips, what was first decided to be a 60 to 90 day undertaking became nine months, quite a jump.
If you are interested, I heard of the wonderful good news (this is on a particular selling entity, not everywhere mind you)- if you buy 300 plus, you get to save around five percent. If you buy half a thousand, you'll save around ten percent.

In the same manner that the YahooGames chess is free and other sites charge enrollment fees, the free adult strip poker game is different from the strip poker games with fees.
One site that has free adult strip poker game offerings is Playmate Poker. It is the Net version of Playboy, and this was the brainchild of WES (a Finnish entity) and it came out sometime in 1999, and of course, the aim of the game is to amass cash by wagering- with the aim of stripping the dealer.

Here are the ordinary rules (in so many sites) of the free adult strip poker game: he who has the worst number of hands would let go of a specific part of his/her clothes. He who wins could remove one part of the attire of the loser. He who wins again could select from among the field of losers which one should take off something.
There are games where action keeps on and would stop only if ALL the participants are already totally naked. Again, I am speaking of the online free adult strip poker game, the live games are another issue altogether.
Want another site: try Bunny Poker, they have gratis games in there too.

"Rebel" in this case (in my lights) is somebody who goes against the grain, who does inexplicable or totally unexpected actions in the poker world. I can name half a dozen names, but I will stick to just one, but let me say something first.

If you are rich (a high roller) or you just won 20 grand, it would be nice to impress evrybody around you at the casino floor by flashing the bills, as though you would use the wad as a fan. This is one rebel poker as far as I am concerned, and flashing the bills holds two disadvantages- first, if the rebel poker uses it as a fan, he would look like a moron, for the casino is fully airconditioned. Second, it would attract the bad elements who would then wait outside the casino gates to rob the bills-flasher.
Speaking of dollar bills, let me go to a Great Rebel Poker, that's Mike Caro. He used to do it: burn dollar bills in front of the opponents to show them he only cares about the game, not the cash. When asked, he recently said that if forced to do it now, he would burn 20 dollar bills instead of hundreds. Saves a lot, and achieves the same psychological blow, but that I guess, is an opinion. (I for one, would think of burning 100 dollar bills as intimidating, while burning the twenties would just be weird).

I was in the middle of a lavish gambling party hosted by a friend, and after eating, I found myself in the company of two (male) gamblers who were talking about "Star Poker", it was an event obviously. I was so curious because the words Star Poker were mentioned every other sentence, from BOTH persons.
I know of an online site, where "Star Poker" is part of the name, but it was not that they were conversing about. It turned out that the conversation piece was the 2nd yearly PartyPoker Sports Stars Challenge that happened not too long ago. I learned that a lot of gambling folks simply refer to that event as the Star Poker "thing".

This particular event is the exclusive province of sports icons, but when I say "sports", I am using it in the biggest perspective. In this STAR Poker, who attended: snooker icon Steve Davis, and representig other fields were Raymond Barneveld, Tony Cascarino, Norman Whiteside, just to mention a few.
Being a chess buff, I asked in my deadpan expression, "Was Garry K there?"- to which one of the duo answered- GARRYKAYWWHHOOO?
Being a great fan of this chess genius, I excused myself and left them, before I succumbed to the temptation of bringing down the big ashtray (in front of us) on that idiot's head.

Many decades ago, when I first saw a painting of dogs playing poker (NOT the original of Coolidge of course), I was so mesmerized that I must have stared at it for more than an hour. That was then, when I was still in the late teens, but now? Whatever the painting may be, whoever painted it, however nice the depiction might be, I do not throw it a second glance. I consider it as something like a- (I almost said cockroach)- hmm...like a tiny butterfly. It may be nice to see at, but if you've seen one, you've seen them all. (That is my humble opinion, but let's get on).
That painting which is so famous is actually entitled LOOKS LIKE FOUR OF A KIND, done in 1910 by Cassius Coolidge (a sign painter). This person founded a bank actually, then he found that depicting dogs in human scenarios was a worthwhile pursuit.

This dogs playing poker painting remains to be one of the most replicated paintings, and that's for all time, think of neckties, cups and even mouse pads, they are there. Even Net casinos (some) have been utilizing this iconic picture, not realzing that some people have gotten sick and tired of looking at dogs playing poker. (Hmm...dogs playing chess might be a new thing, maybe I can hire a painting pro).
Fact is, it is my guess that Bill Gates must be saying, 'if I've been born before Coolidge, I could have done it first'- or at least had it patented first.

There are two kinds of chip-free games in poker, one is the one profferred by the online sites, while the second kind constitutes the novel kind. I will tell you a little story that definitely belongs to the NOVEL kind of chip-free player poker game.
There were four guys, let me just call them John, Paul, George and Ringo. NO, they were NOT the Beatles, I just hid them under these names, I am not in any creative mood to think of names.

There were four guys, let me just call them John, Paul, George and Ringo. NO, they were NOT the Beatles, I just hid them under these names, I am not in any creative mood to think of names.
Well, these four had their respective collections, John had a shoe collection (more than a hundred, from the most expensive leather kind to the sneakers), Paul had his stamps, George had a fiction book collection (and believe me, some of them could be sold to the collectors for thousands of dollars) while Ringo had his drums. Erp...no, that was the Ringo of the BEATLES, this Ringo had a collection of novelty pens. (Have you ever seen a ballpoint that is both a flashlight and a screwdriver?)
Once upon a time, the four of them got bored out of their skulls and played a chip-free player poker game, so what did they use as stakes? One item from their respective collections, and believe me, they did this chip-free player poker game more than once.
I got to watch it one time, incredible, the passion in which all of them played would make you think that the penalty for losing is death from a firing squad. Impressive, in more ways than one...actually, I wanted to join. But they did not want my kind of collection (different kinds of decorative pebbles), they said I would not be able to sell it for 5$ even if I wanted to).

Poker Play Statistics, what are they for, why bother studying them? A concrete edge of math-conscious gamblers is their capability of accurately computing the dollar-expectation for every scenario, well, make that almost all. A lot of computations in poker involve approximating and speculation, STILL- the stronger idea you have about the worth of hands in any given scenario, the better your winning prospects would be.
The good thing about Net poker (over landbased) is that it is very easy to maintain records on past results, to study poker play statistics to enhance later performances. Actually, a lot of the
online rooms offer the histories of every hand done, the dollar-results for each gambler, and basically all kinds of poker play statistics you could imagine. The fact is, there are gamblers who invented their own hand history analyzing tool, whether it's effective or not, it all depends on how creative he/she is, and that does not have anything to do with poker play strength per se.
Let me just go to a practical something, from PokerStars, how do you ask for your poker play statistics? Just click at dealer tray, choose 'request statistics', as simple as that.

If I have only received a thousand dollars for every time I hear a debate going on regarding the usefulness (or futility) of learning to play poker for free- I would now be as rich as Kerry Packer was when he died.
Anyway, I've always believed that to learn to play poker for free holds more ups than downs. Anyway, let me just talk about free-game poker for a bit. There are
online rooms that would replenish the gambler's chips the moment he goes zero, but there would be those that would let 24 hours pass by first. The downside of playing poker for free is the "no foldem holdem" mentality, every hand would be called to the river, but if you are wary of this, then you should not cultivate it as a habit.
Learn to play poker for free, and learn the mechanics, and that I need not elaborate. Learn to play poker for free, and practice discipline- what do I mean by this? Imagine your free money to be real cash, so that by the time you sit down at a real landbased site, you would by then have imbibed the habits of a good player.
Learn to play poker for free, and read the board: you'll get a lot of practice on this, for the games online are quicker than a live one.

If you want to learn how to shuffle poker chips, let me tell you two things right now, which you should seriously take. First, practice a lot, fact is- if you can practice 24 hours a day, better (I know, sounds ridiculous, but this is the Era of the workaholics and of Multi-tasking). Second, if you want to learn how to shuffle poker chips, know this most famous kind. Rolling the chip across your knuckles, that or mixing the 2 sets of chips together (according to many, the second is easier).
If you want to learn how to shuffle poker chips, then know the horizontal shuffle. Begin with 4 chips in 2 sets, they should be straight stacks, in contact with each other. First step: put hand over chips, grasp them using the 4 fingers (middle finger is out), the thumb and indx would be used, maneuver both stacks by dragging.
Second step: use middle finger to bring up bottom chips, it would cause them to angle up, coming from a resting postion, as angle becomes bigger, chips would shuffle into position.
Third: if you want to learn how to shuffle poker chips, then master this crucial last part- with whole hand, stroke the whole set so that they are all squared, making it cylinder-like in shape.
Remember that Carnegie Hall joke, (I'm not going to repeat it)- just practice, practice, and practice.
