Bodog Fights

Posted in Online Poker, Poker News on September 30th, 2008
That very first monthly tourney happened, the Bodog Fight Challenge Poker Tournament Series where the poker buffs of Bodog matched wits and skills against the Bodog fighters. Among the participants of the Bodog fights were Nick Thompson (Bodog Fight champ of the Welterweight), Jeff Osbourne, Boss Voss, Brad Picket (aka as One Punch) and still a couple of others. At the first of the Bodog Fights series, here are some of what happened: Brad Pickett landed 101st, he bluffed 880 chips to a 500 plus chip using a 8H/AD holding. Finishing a respectable 87th place, Robert Voss got very short-stacked, went all-in with a 10d/AD but got crushed with a 3D/3H. The Finals (last leg) of this series had interesting (if not exactly high-rollers' kind- that's relative) prizes: grand prize is a trip for two plus tickets to Bodog events/fights worth five grand. Second place was a plasma TV, and the 3rd was a Custom poker table (Bodog).

Absolute Code Poker Promotional

Posted in Online Poker, Poker News on September 25th, 2008
Marketing is an important element in business. Many companies succeed and fail on their marketing campaign thus emphasis is given on this aspect. In today's Internet-savvy world, sites use marketing strategies to win customers. A good example is with poker sites. There are those that have special sections that can be accessed by new members through a promotional code. Absolute code poker promotional strategies are therefore used to get these new members. Once they have become members, these players can then go on and battle other members of the site. They can either play for real money or just virtual credits which are used for fun site items. These poker sites rely on the word of mouth from their members as another important marketing strategy. Thus, they ensure that all their members are satisfied with their services. Getting new members will strengthen the site’s hold on the lucrative online gaming share.

Free Poker Software

Posted in Online Poker, Pokerooms on September 20th, 2008
Free poker software is now available from various card sites. Poker fanatics will definitely be delighted to get the programs and install them in their computers. There are different poker variations which are available in some software. The programs are made for solo play although some can be used to connect with other players over the Internet. Betting on these software can be done using virtual money or with real money from credit cards. There are certain precautions that should be done when getting software from the Internet. Some of these programs are bundled with viruses and worms which are harmful to the whole system. Some even have spyware which steal data from the user and send them to a central server. To avoid having these problems, users must check the validity of the site. They need to verify if the website is legal or not to ensure that no harm can be done to their computer.

Let It Ride Poker

Posted in Poker News, Pokerooms on September 15th, 2008
A Let it Ride poker game is an exciting version in which a player doesn't compete with other players or a dealer. Instead, you compete against the house. The basic point of a Let it Ride poker game is that if you don't receive a pair of 10's or any higher pair, you lose. So in order to play this poker game, you have to create a winning hand with a pair of 10's or any higher pair. When evaluating your poker hand, the regular hand ranking system is used. This type of poker game is dealt from a 52-piece card deck. If you want to increase your chances of winning a game, look for gaming sites that offer a free Let it Ride poker game. Through a free online game, you can practice your card-handling skills without wasting money. Plus, many free online poker games include tutorial sessions wherein you can pick up tips and bankroll management techniques.

Free Strip Poker Online

Posted in Online Poker, Poker News, Pokerooms on September 5th, 2008
A free online poker game brings the excitement of this beloved casino game right into your computer. Aside from the variations this card game offers, you can also perfect your strategies through a free online poker game. To make the experience more exciting, many adult gaming sites now offer strip poker. To play strip poker for free online, you just have to go to a gaming site that offers free strip poker games. Whether you're playing Texas Hold 'em or an Omaha Hi-Lo variant, a sexy virtual opponent who loves to remove her clothes everytime she loses a game makes the experience more exciting. One key in making sure that you win in a strip poker game is to know the basic hands. Depending on the type of poker game, knowing which hand or card combination is the strongest or weakest is a basic poker skill. In most poker games, the hand with the highest ranking is a royal flush.

PokerStars Hole Cards

Posted in Online Poker, Poker News on September 1st, 2008
The hole cards are what set poker apart from chess. The latter has nothing hidden, but in poker, the 'mystery' is contained in the presence of the hole cards. Now, one of the giants in the industry is seriously thinking of a novelty with regards to the hole cards. What is this: a bigger-stakes cash game (freezeout) which would involve their sponsored professionals, and a replay would be shown after the competition. In said replay, all PokerStars hole cards would be seen. One insider from the site said that they monitored their bigger-stakes cash games' players in the way of reactions. Obviously, Pokerstars hole cards being revealed could be seen as draconian or very amusing, or both. In the chat logs, some players of the online room think of it as worthy of study. I for one think it has both the upside and the downside, but the advantages would outweigh the negatives.

Party poker stratergy

Posted in Pokerooms on July 30th, 2008
Poker is fast becoming the game of choice for many online casino players. Unlike other online casino games such as the roulette, part of the charm of online poker is the fact that it is not purely a game of chance. It is a game of both skill and luck. Thus, if you're going to play on PartyPoker, you must have a party poker strategy. Your strategies will be very important in your game because choosing these strategies can spell the difference between a win and a loss. Before you formulate strategies, though, you must first be familiar with the rules of the game. If you have a good hand, it's important that you keep on playing because with the right strategy, you'll definitely win the game. If, however, you have a bad hand, know that it's okay to quit. After all, you can always start another game, use other strategies, and start winning again.

Party poker tip

Posted in Poker Reviews on July 20th, 2008
Do you love playing poker? If so, why not host a poker party? You can be the dealer and have a poker dealer party at your own home. Arranging a poker party is easy just as long as you have the right materials, and of course, your group of friends. You should have a full deck of cards as well as real money or poker chips to bet with. When hosting a poker party, you must also have a stash of snacks to make the game more enjoyable. Once you have the materials ready for your poker party, you must then call up your friends and invite them to go over at your house. Once they are there, you can then decide what kind of game to play. Will it be 7-card poker, 5-card poker, or Texas Hold'Em? Once you've chosen a game, it's necessary that everybody knows the rules. It's also important that you discuss whether you'll be playing with poker chips or with real money. After that, you can then start the game and enjoy your poker party.
